• Jared Leto is The Joker, Will Smith is Deadshot in DC's Suicide Squad movie | Polygon
  Warner Bros has confirmed the cast of its movie based on DC Comics' Suicide Squad, announcing that Jared Leto will play The Joker and Will Smith will play Deadshot in the 2016 film.The confirmed cast also includes Margot Robbie, who will play Harley Quinn; Tom Hardy, who will return to the DC universe as Rick Flagg; Jai Courtney as Boomerang; and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. According to Variety, Jesse Eisenberg, who will portray Lex Luthor in next year's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, will also appear.

  After receiving much criticism for its handling of threats on the service, Twitter has announced some improvements to its process for reporting abuse. Starting today, the company is rolling out what it says is a more streamlined process for reporting accounts that harass or threaten other users. The changes come after several high-profile instances of threats and abuse around the world, including ongoing harassment tied to Gamergate and the tweets that drove Zelda Williams off Twitter after her father’s death. The changes announced include reporting abuse with fewer steps, letting people who are not directly involved in the abuse flag it more easily, giving users a page where they can view and edit those whom they have previously blocked, and preventing blocked users from viewing the profiles of the people who blocked them.
• Google sold more Chromebooks to US schools than Apple did iPads in Q3 | 9to5Google
  Google, for the first time ever, has overtaken Apple in United States schools. IDC claims that Google shipped 715,000 Chromebooks to schools in the third quarter, while Apple shipped 702,000 iPads to schools. Chromebooks as a whole now account for a quarter of the educational market. IDC says that the lower cost of Chromebooks when compared to iPads is a huge factor for school districts. Chromebooks start at $199, while last year’s iPad Air, with educational discounts applied, costs $379. The research firm also says that many school corporations prefer the full keyboard found on Chromebooks instead of the touchscreen found on iPads. IT departments also tend to favor Chromebooks because they are simpler to manage when compared to iPads.

  Stephen Hawking has said that efforts to create thinking machines pose a threat to our very existence. He told the BBC, "The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race." His warning came in response to a question about a revamp of the technology he uses to communicate, which involves a basic form of AI. But was is it him saying it, or his computer?
• Apple's Steve Wozniak To Star In Tech Reality TV Show
  Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is making a return to reality TV. He will star in his own show named "The Woz" in which he'll test new tech gizmos. Kari Byron of "Mythbusters" fame will co-star. "The Woz" will be Wozniak's first TV series, but he has appeared on several TV shows, including "The Big Bang Theory," and in 2009 he competed on "Dancing With the Stars." 
• Microsoft kills Clip Art, replaces with Bing image search integration.
  Microsoft has announced that it is killing Clip Art. Microsoft is swapping the Clip Art library for integration with Bing image search, allowing Office users to easily insert photos and images with a creative commons license into their projects and documents. Microsoft explains, “The Office.com Clip Art and image library has closed shop. Usage of Office’s image library has been declining year-to-year as customers rely more on search engines.” Clip Art will be buried next to Clippy the paper clip.

  Dave Addey of the Typeset in the Future blog has typographically analyzed the 1979 classic Alien. Of particular interest, he found out that Ripley's failure to deactivate the Nostromo's self-destruct was due to following poorly-translated French instructions.   For more than a year now, Mozilla has categorically stated that it wouldn’t release a version of Firefox for iOS because Apple won’t let it use its own web engine on its platform. But it looks like Mozilla’s position may be changing. At an internal Mozilla event in Portland yesterday, the organization talked about the need to get its browser onto iOS.“ We need to be where our users are,” Firefox release manager Lukas Blakk wrote on Twitter. “So we’re going to get Firefox on iOS.” Mozilla has now officially acknowledged that it is experimenting with the iOS platform.

  Nintendo has announced that the Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses tour will embark on a new worldwide adventure next year. The concert series will return for a third installment under the name of “Master Quest” to celebrate the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask on Nintendo 3DS. Featuring new music from the latest Zelda 3DS title, A Link Between Worlds, as well as music from the aforementioned remake Majora’s Mask, the Master Quest tour will take fans on a melodic journey across Hyrule and its diverse worlds, including gameplay imagery from the fan-favourite remake.
